About synthetic zeolites

Zeolites are crystalline aluminosilicates with an open three-dimensional structure

Today more than 200 of these structures are known but only few of them are found in nature. That is why synthetic zeolites are specially designed for their intended applications. Because of their unique structure and chemical composition they are capable of working in ion exchange processes and exhibit selective adsorptive and catalytic properties.
